When you’re sitting in third place and you have a week with the two teams in second and fourth place, it’s a big week.
That’s the situation for the Timber Creek girls, who are in third place with Keller just ahead with 24 points.
Denton Guyer with 13 points is nipping at the Lady Falcons’ heels in fourth place.
Guyer will be up next for Timber Creek on Tuesday with Keller the opponent on Friday.

The Lady Falcons, 4-3 with two shootout wins, have been finding the going tough but have found a rhythm.
“I’m very happy with them,” Timber Creek head coach Mike King said. “We’ve got a great group of kids that are all hard working and dedicated to Timber Creek soccer.”
King said the team has been working extremely hard in the competitive district stretch of their schedule.
“We’re better all over the field this year,” King said. “The next few weeks will be a challenge, but I have no doubt they will bring everything they have to every game.”
Keller, too, has been playing well and amassing an 8-1 record just behind league-leader Byron Nelson.
The Lady Indians posted a 6-0 win over Central on Friday.
In addition to the Timber Creek game this week, the Lady Indians will have an opportunity to move into a tie for the district lead as they were playing at Byron Nelson on Tuesday.
In the first meeting with Timber Creek, Keller got away with a 1-0 win. The first game with Nelson was also a 1-0 score, in favor of the Bobcats.
Keller, though, may be taking a look at what’s to come.
Keller head coach Billy Griffiths said the focus going forward will be to pick up wins in the playoffs.
In the remainder of the district after Guyer is Central with 11 points, Northwest with nine points, Denton Ryan with seven and Fossil Ridge with one.
Central’s Achilles’ heel has been extended-session games.
The Lady Chargers have gone to shootouts in four games and lost three of them.
Central was to be at Northwest on Tuesday and then at Guyer on Friday.
Fossil Ridge had its shot at Guyer early in the week and then will go back to Denton on Friday to play Ryan.
