The Keller Varsity Silver hockey team came up big in its victory over Denton County on Thursday night, winning 7-2 at the Euless StarCenter Green Arena.
Keller outshot Denton County 22-11 in the game.
Brian Lassan got things going for Keller less than two minutes into the game, scoring on assists from Joseph Trazzera and Carson Smith to take the lead.
Smith added an unassisted goal 18 seconds later to make it 2-0 in favor of Keller.

With less than five minutes to play in the first period, Mark Miller scored on an assist from Jacob Felch to extend Keller’s lead to three.
Simon Perry scored 30 seconds later on an unassisted goal, and Keller led 4-0 at the end of the first period.
Denton County broke through in the second period when Gracon Mangnall scored on an assist from Sean O’Cain to cut the deficit back down to three at the 8:20 mark of the period.
Keller came right back two minutes later and made it 5-1 on Smith’s second goal of the night, on assists from Perry and Robert Healey.
The game was 5-1 heading into the third period.
Healey scored on an unassisted goal in the third period to make it 6-1 Keller, and Lane MacDougall scored his first goal of the night with three minutes to play in the game on an assist from Healey to make it 7-1 Keller.
Garrett Bosely scored on an assist from Miles Allsopp-Shiner for Denton County to make it 7-2 with two minutes left to play, but the night belonged to Keller.
Keller will play Frisco at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday at the Euless Green Arena.
Denton County will play at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday against Mansfield at the Farmers Branch Miller Arena.
Keller JV Gold comes up short
The Keller JV Gold hockey team came up a little short on Sunday, losing 8-4 to Plano Senior at the Euless Green Arena.
A bright spot for the JV Gold team was Mitchell Clifton, who scored a hat trick for Keller to keep the team in the game.
Tristan Bonifay scored the fourth goal for the JV Gold team against Plano.
Nolan Kwasny earned two assists in the game for Keller, while Bonifay, Nathaniel Lee and John Yonce earned assists as well.
Keller will play Lovejoy at 7:30 on Sunday at the Plano US Arena.
