Brown Bag

Supt. Randy Reid hosts his monthly Brown Bag session on Nov. 13 at Timber Creek High School, 12350 Timberland Blvd. The meeting starts at noon in the school library.

Student credit union

Fossil Ridge High School opened a student-run branch of Unity One Credit Union on Oct. 17. The branch operates during lunch with students who have been trained at Unity One’s North Tarrant Parkway branch.

Seeking parent responses

The Northwest school district is looking for feedback from parents to identify strengths and areas needing improvement at each campus. The 2014-2015 parent survey will be available Dec. 1-15 online on the district’s website and will focus on topics regarding safety, instructional programs and support services. Answers will remain confidential and anonymous. A parent without Internet access may access the survey at any district campus.

Northwest working on network improvements

Northwest school district is participating in an audit with the Consortium for School Networking to provide recommendations for networking and bandwidth adequacy, instructional technology initiatives, security, wireless infrastructure, and server and storage recommendations. Learn more about the steps Northwest plans to take regarding network access and other technology issues by going to the district’s website.

Veteran diplomas offered

The Northwest school district will recognize veterans receiving their high school diploma at an upcoming school board meeting. More information or for eligibility requirements for veterans to acquire a diploma for Northwest, call 817-215-0171 or go to the district’s website.
