Second graders at Lone Star Elementary School put their own spin on the term “fast food.”
Students built race cars from food items and participated in the “Incredible Edible Derby” on Nov. 15. Cars were launched down a ramp, and prizes given for vehicles that rolled the farthest.
Jackson Wolf’s vehicle made from miniature pumpkins, carrots and oranges won the event.
Teachers used the experience to help kids learn science lessons about force and motion.
