May 23 - Sept. 7 - Community Pool Season, Community Pool and Splash Pad, 500 Parkview Dr. Northwest ISD has scheduled Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day) as an inclement weather make-up day, and the Competition and Kiddie Pools will be closed that day. The Splash Pad will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pool will be open May 23-24, May 30-31, and September 5-7, and then open daily starting Saturday, June 6. The last day of the regular season is August 23. Hours of operation: Mon/Wed/Thur 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (splash pad opens at 10 a.m.) Closed every Tuesday. Fri-Sun 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Contact 682-831-4600.

Westlake

May 25 -Annual Decoration Day, hosted by the Westlake Historical Preservation Society, 6 p.m, Westlake I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 3101 J. T. Ottinger Rd. A moving old-fashioned gathering held each year to honor those who serve our great nation-both past and present. Bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen, and mosquito spray and enjoy free hot dogs, dutch oven cobblers prepared by local Boy Scout group, and a homemade ice cream contest. Guest speaker is retired Army Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, plus special music and a tribute to all veterans present. Contact 817-430-0941.

Keller ISD

May 23 - Every Step for Autism Fun Run/Walk hosted by Keller ISD AVID programs at Fossil Ridge High School, 4101 Thompson Rd. Registration for 5K starts at 7 a.m. and the run at 8 a.m. Registration for the Fun Walk begins at 8:45 and the Fun Walk around the school track starts at 9:30. The event also includes bounce houses, games face painting, concessions and entertainment.

Through May 25 - The Keller District Climate Survey is available for parents, employees and community members. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is available on the KISD website: www.kellerisd.net.
