A local businessman who died late last month is remembered for his giving spirit and community involvement.
Charlie Beck, 69, died on April 24. His funeral was April 29.
“He was down to earth, went out of his way to help people,” said his friend Jarrett Armstrong. “Just that kind of guy.”
According to his obituary, Beck was a master electrician and founded Electrical Circuits Inc., which he ran for 30 years. He also owned C&S Business Park of Keller for 20 years.

Beck was involved with the Lions Club of Keller, Royal Ambassadors and the Indian Guides, his obituary says. Armstrong, also a Lions Club member, said Beck helped out with a lot of the club’s utilities, even recently, he helped run a long sewer line.
“Every project has his stamp on it, in some form or fashion,” Armstrong said.
Beck enjoyed traveling, games, barbecue and hosting family and friends, his obituary says.
Armstrong said Beck was “playfully critical and sarcastic,” that was just his way of joking around. He said he will miss being able to talk to Beck the most.
“He was always the first person to call,” Armstrong said. “There were so many things that made him a special person.”
