Deloitte University donated $10,000 to the Westlake Fire Department in March, adding to multiple gifts to local government services.
The Fire Department used the money to purchase testing equipment for breathing apparatus, allowing for onsite testing of the masks that firefighters wear, according to a Town of Westlake news release.
“This will allow us to comply with state regulations easier,” said Westlake Fire Chief Richard Whitten in a prepared statement. “We appreciate Deloitte’s partnership and generosity to our Fire Department and to our community.”
Deloitte donated $10,000 to WFD for a live fire extinguisher training system last year, and $10,000 to the Keller Police Department, which patrols Westlake, toward the purchase and training of the next K-9 officer puppy.
