The Town Council unanimously agreed to move forward with Stephen Seidel as town manager during a meeting March 2.
A two-year employment contract was negotiated and Seidel has taken over the town leadership role, effective immediately, according to a news release issued Thursday.
The Town Council previously named Seidel as acting town manager on Jan. 24 after the resignation of then Town Manager Mike Slye.
“Stephen has proven to be a huge asset to the organization and community over the years,” Mayor Nick Sanders said in the news release. “His professionalism, leadership and vast knowledge of local government operations provides a solid foundation for moving the town forward,.”

Upon accepting the position, Seidel said in the release, “I am thrilled with the opportunity to work with residents, Town Council, staff and Trophy Club partners in a meaningful, impactful way that positively benefits the community.”
Seidel has worked for the Town of Trophy Club for more than seven years as the assistant town manager.
Seidel is an International City Management Association (ICMA) credentialed manager, member of Leadership North Texas class of 2013 and a member of Leadership ICMA class of 2008, and was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar Fellowship recipient.
He attended the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia and has a master’s in public administration from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s of science in public administration from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
