The Keller ISD Education Foundation is accepting applications from graduating KISD seniors for $1,000 scholarships through March 20. The Foundation will award twelve $1,000 scholarships for tuition at an accredited college, university, community college or trade school. The Foundation also will award, on behalf of the Rotary Club, four more $1,000 tuition scholarships.
KISD parents, students and campus staff are invited to take the annual Campus Climate Surveys online through March 22. The surveys gather feedback on the performance of individual schools. Another survey later this spring will solicit input on the district overall.
Parents weigh in
Parents of NISD students have positive perceptions of their children’s safety at school and of the preparation they are receiving for college, according to an annual district survey conducted by Education Service Center Region XI.
About 2,050 parents took the survey in December. Thelatest findings indicate that 95 percent of parents agree their child feels safe at school; 92 percent agree their child receives instruction preparing them for the next level of education and 93 percent feel welcome at their child’s school.
Granting Teachers’ Wishes
NISD’s Education Foundation Grant Brigade served up surprises Feb. 20 as they went to 12 campuses to award 32 teachers more than $99,800 in innovative teaching grants. To date, more than $1.4 million has been distributed to teachers in the district. The grants are used to fund innovative programs and projects for the classroom.
