A new grocery store with a familiar name has opened in north Fort Worth.
A new Walmart Neighborhood Market opened Wednesday at the corner of North Beach Street and Heritage Trace Parkway. The superstore chain touted low prices, 24/7 convenience and the creation of up to 95 jobs with the new store’s opening in a news release.
“We’re always excited to celebrate the openings of new businesses in Fort Worth and new jobs to our area,” said Mayor Betsy Price in a prepared statement. “We know that Walmart will provide excellent service to the community.”
The 55,000-square-foot Neighborhood Market offers groceries, health and beauty products, pet products, cleaning supplies, a gas station and a pharmacy. Other items you’d find in a traditional Walmart store or at Walmart.com can be purchased online and shipped for free to this new location for pickup, the release says.

“We look forward to providing the Fort Worth community with a convenient shopping option where they can save money on many of their everyday needs,” said store manager Lee Emery in a prepared statement.
In its grand opening Wednesday, the store presented grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups.
The store also planned a celebration on Saturday, with family-fun activities such as face painting, cupcake decorating and free food samples.
