A stray dog that got a second chance last week when two Fort Worth police officers blocked a freeway to save her has a new home.
The dog was adopted from the Humane Society of North Texas Thursday, officials said.
Officers Allen Speed and Paul Garcia were eastbound on Interstate 30 near Beach Street Jan. 27 when they spotted a little dog wandering in traffic lanes, the police department reported Wednesday.
The officers stopped, set up a temporary road block and coaxed the puppy into their squad car with a treat.
