One person was killed Thursday morning when a tow truck crashed on Interstate 35W in south Fort Worth, tying up freeway traffic for hours.
The tow truck driver lost control of the vehicle, which hit a concrete barrier, said officer Daniel Segura, a police spokesman. The wreck happened about 11:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of I-35W near Sycamore School Road.
Two people were in the truck, Segura said. MedStar tweeted that one person had minor injuries. It could not be learned whether the dead person was the driver or a passenger.
Police reduced the freeway to one lane before shutting it down and diverting southbound traffic to Hemphill Street near Interstate 20. The freeway reopened about 3 p.m.
