Two people were killed in separate wrecks on highways in Fort Worth early Monday, police say.
Investigations into the causes of the fatal wrecks continued Monday morning.
The victim in one wreck was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as Clifton Smith, 36, of Fort Worth. He was pronounced dead at 3:17 a.m. on Interstate 30.
Smith was killed in a wreck involving a vehicle he was in and an 18-wheeler shortly after 3 a.m. Monday in the 8500 block of Interstate 30 and Cooks Lane.

Two other people were injured but their conditions were not available. The truck driver was not injured.
The other fatality occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 4700 block of West Loop 820. A driver crashed a vehicle and was ejected, police said.
He was identified as Matthew Lukins, 23, of Azle, according to the medical examiner’s website.
