Driver killed by tractor-trailer on South Freeway service road in Fort Worth

A 43-year-old man was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer as he got out of the cab of a truck on a South Freeway service road Tuesday morning, police said.

Roger Sadousky was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m. in the 10000 block of the Interstate 35W service road, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported. Sadousky’s place of residence, and the cause and manner of death had not been reported by late Tuesday.

The driver of the 18-wheeler that struck Sadousky said he had been pursuing him because Sadousky had stolen a tractor-trailer, Tamara Valle, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman, said in an e-mail.

The tractor-trailer Sadousky was driving ran off the road. When Sadousky got out of the cab, he was hit by the other truck.

Investigators believe the death was an accident and are not pursuing charges against the other driver, Valle said.
