A 2-year-old was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in critical condition Saturday after a possible drowning, police said.

Fort Worth Police officers who were dispatched to the 2800 block of Walton Avenue found a child had wandered out of his residence. When he was noticed missing, the family went to look for him and found him in the pool.

The first officer on the scene performed CPR, police spokeswoman Tamara Valle said in an email.

The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition at about 5:25 p.m., according to a MedStar tweet. An update on the child’s condition and further details were unavailble Sunday.
