Man dies in fiery north Fort Worth car crash

A man died in a crash at West Long and Chestnut in north Fort Worth early Friday.

A man in his early 20s who was “either speeding or racing” died in a car accident in north Fort Worth early Friday, police said.

Emergency crews were sent about 5:50 a.m. to the wreck at the corner of West Long Avenue and Chestnut Avenue, near Meacham Airport, said Sgt. Marc Povero, a police spokesman.

The man, whose name has not been released, was driving west on West Long when he spun out and hit some trees, Povero said.

Paramedics found him ejected from his vehicle and the vehicle on fire, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
