A speeding motorcyclist who hit a wall on the Chisholm Trail Parkway on Monday was the first person to die on the toll road since it opened in May, authorities said Tuesday.

Kelvin Simien, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:22 p.m. Monday on a Southwest Loop 820 service road below the 4900 block of Chisholm Trail Parkway, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

He was driving his 2005 Suzuki 1000 at speeds faster than 100 mph, according to Cpl. Tracey Knight, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.

Simien was thrown off an overpass and died of multiple blunt-force injuries, the medical examiner’s office reported.

A spokesman for the North Texas Tollway Authority confirmed that it was the first death on the new tollway.
