A Tarrant County grand jury declined Wednesday to indict a Fort Worth man on a count of robbery made after a sneaker exchange.
“I’m just happy,” said Ryan Perez of Fort Worth.
He was arrested and accused of robbery in March after an elite sneaker trade went wrong. He was kicked out of his apartment and lost three pairs of elite sneakers after the arrest. Now, Perez can sleep well again.
He plans to find himself an authentic pair of Yeezys, the Nike sneaker designed by Kanye West that started the flap. He had traded other sneakers for a pair of Yeezys later determine to be counterfeits, but later was charged with robbery when he went to get the other sneakers back.
