After closing earlier this month because of flooding, Lake Worth reopens today.
Officials will open the lake to boaters at 10 a.m., a news release says. The city of Fort Worth closed the boat ramps in fear waves from boat wakes would affect homes and other structures on the lake.
The lake has dropped to a safe level, the release said, but boaters should still be cautious.
Watch for debris, submerged boat docks and tree stumps. On shore, wildlife activity may have increased. Animal feeding or nesting spots may have moved to higher ground or been disturbed. The animals to watch for include fire ants, snakes, deer and alligators.
