A 28-year-old man was arrested in Del Rio Monday morning in the fatal stabbing of a man the night before at a gathering in north Fort Worth.
Luis Gutierrez-Ovalle was arrested on the murder warrant at a Del Rio gas station Monday morning by Del Rio police, homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman said.
He is accused in the fatal stabbing of Jaime Mantilla, also 28.
According to Loughman, Mantilla had been attending a barbecue at a home in the 2500 block of N.W. 25th Street when the suspect came to the home and the men got into a fight in the backyard.

Loughman said the argument is believed to have been over a woman, but declined to elaborate.
During the altercation, Loughman said the suspect pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Mantilla.
The suspect then left, he said.
Mantilla was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries at 9:41 p.m., about an hour after the stabbing.
Loughman said investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Gutierrez-Ovalle and alerted the Border Patrol after receiving information that the suspect had been planning on traveling to Mexico on Monday.
“Homicide detectives are currently headed to Del Rio to interrogate the suspect and collect any evidence that can be located in the suspect’s vehicle,” Loughman said.
