Construction workers on Tuesday found what appeared to be human remains buried below a street corner in downtown Fort Worth, police said.

Homicide investigators and forensic anthropologists from the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office were called about 2 p.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of Lexington Street at the corner of Weatherford Street on the western edge of downtown.

A crew from Bean Electrical was working there.

The medical examiner’s office had not confirmed whether the remains were human by Tuesday evening. Ryan Osborne
