Police are investigating the slaying of a man found dead Sunday morning in a Fort Worth auto repair shop.

A passerby had called police to El Chevo Empresa, 2501 Pearl Ave., around 5 a.m. on a report of a burglary in progress.

Police arrived to find a man inside the business dead of an apparent gunshot wound, according to homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman.

The identity of the victim had not been released as of Monday afternoon but Loughman said the man worked at the business.

Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to call the homicide unit at 817-392-4330.

Loughman declined to comment on whether anything had been stolen from the shop.
