A woman was killed and a man was in critical condition Tuesday night after a shooting in far south Fort Worth, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.

Police responding to a 911 call of a shooting in the 3700 block of Bee Tree Lane at 9:38 p.m. arrived to find two people with gunshot wounds, Fort Worth police Lt. W.T. Robinson wrote in an email.

Witnesses told police they heard a car containing multiple occupants pull up to the house around 9:30 p.m., said officer Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman. Then the neighbors heard multiple gunshots, he said.

Once EMS workers were cleared by police to go inside, a man was found wounded and was transported to JPS Hospital, Zavadsky said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man and woman appear to be in their 20s or early 30s, according to police.

Homicide detectives did not have a motive as they worked into early Wednesday.

Richard Wais, who lives directly across the street, said he went outside when he heard police sirens.

“I said, ‘Hey, what gives here?’ and they said someone had been shot,” Wais said.

Wais said the house is rented, and he knows a couple lives there.

The woman will be identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner office once her family has been notified.

The owner of the house at the address is Kevin Kelcey, according to the Tarrant Appraisal District.
