A female student at O.D. Wyatt High School was seriously injured Wednesday when she was stabbed by another girl in the school gymnasium, district spokesman Clint Bond said.
The two students were fighting “due to text messages sent to a boy,” said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman.
Bond said the 17-year-old victim was stabbed with a pocket knife. She was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 15-year-old, was arrested by school officers, accused of aggravated assault and taken to the Fort Worth juvenile detention center, Knight said.
