Man killed in Fort Worth I-35W wreck identified, 4 injured

One person was killed Monday morning and four other people were seriously injured in a wreck on Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth, officials said. The southbound lanes of the highway near Heritage Trace Parkway were closed for more than three hours as authorities investigated the crash.

A man was killed and four others were injured Monday morning in a multivehicle wreck on Interstate 35 West in north Fort Worth, officials and police said.

Mark Boland, 66, of Huntington, Pa., was pronounced dead in the 9600 block of I-35W at 11:35 a.m., the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported.

Two other people were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, one person was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, and one was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance, officials said. Two were in critical condition and two were in serious condition, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene at 11:15 a.m. in southbound lanes of I-35W near Heritage Trace Parkway. The lanes were closed for more than three hours as authorities investigated the crash, police said.

The wreck involved two semi-trucks and three vehicles, police said.
