The shooting death of a man found outside of a north Fort Worth hotel was ruled a suicide, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.

Fort Worth homicide detectives investigated the death overnight.

Officers were dispatched at 9:26 p.m. Wednesday to the Residence Inn at 13400 North Freeway, off I-35W, where they found the unidentified man dead in front of the hotel, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman. He appeared to be possibly in his late 50s, Knight said.

The medical examiner’s office said the man died in a grassy area beside the hotel parking lot of a gunshot wound to the head.
