A fight between two groups Monday that led to the shooting of a woman and a standoff with police was about hair, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
Patrol and SWAT officers were called to the 5300 block of Whitten Street in far south Fort Worth at 2:49 p.m. Monday after a woman was shot in the front yard, said officer Daniel Segura, a police spokesman.
“Apparently there was a disagreement in regards to some type of haircut or hair service,” Segura said.
The woman was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition at 3:01 p.m., MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky previously told the Star-Telegram. Her condition could not be learned Wednesday.
At least two women were barricaded inside the house but came out about 6 p.m. after talking to negotiators.
Police remained at the house for several hours because the women told them that someone else might be inside, Segura said.
SWAT officers left at 9:45 p.m. after no one was found.
No arrest warrants had been issued as of Wednesday night.
