A woman is dead and her husband is in jail after the two were in a fiery crash Sunday off Texas 183 near the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, according to authorities.
Fort Worth police suspect that the woman’s 43-year-old husband, Juan Salinas, was drunk when he drove off the road in the 15200 block of Texas 183 at 2:25 a.m. Sunday. Juan Salinas, whose booking photo was not available Monday night, faces a charge of intoxication assault/manslaughter, according to Fort Worth jail records.
When police arrived, Juan Salinas had been pulled from the wreckage by witnesses while the truck was on fire, Officer Tamara Pena said. Elva Salinas, 43, was listed as the victim in the crash, a Fort Worth police report said.
“The witnesses reported that after they got the driver out of the vehicle he stated his wife was still in the vehicle,” Pena wrote in an email. “The witnesses attempted to go back to help her but the fire was too intense and they were not able to assist her.”
