A woman walking her dogs shot herself early Monday in a residential neighborhood, police said.

The woman, who was not identified, was in critical condition, according to a MedStar spokesman.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly before 4:30 a.m. in the 7600 block of Bronco Crossing Ct.

A woman had been out walking her dogs and was returning to her home when the shooting occurred, police said.

She was taken to a local hospital.

Police did not release any other details in the shooting.
