Teen killed after being struck by train is ID’d

A 16-year-old who died Tuesday after he was struck by a train that he apparently didn’t hear because he was wearing earbuds has been identified as Kameron Lorenzo Alvarado.

Though the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office hasn’t ruled on the cause and manner of death, police officials have said nothing suggests that the death was “anything other than a tragic accident.”

Alvarado was walking on the railroad tracks near West Biddison Street and Ryan Avenue when the incident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Clint Bond, a spokesman for the Fort Worth school district, said Alvarado was a student at Paschal High School but withdrew in February and transferred to a private school. Counselors were made available for students, he said.

The family has begun a gofundme account to help pay for the funeral.
