A man died Friday morning after he appeared to have struck a guardrail while riding his motorcycle in the 2600 block of Northeast Loop 820, near Interstate 35W in northeast Fort Worth, police said.

The man, who was identified as 32-year-old Casey Johnson by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, lost control of the motorcycle while driving westbound on the access road.

The motorcycle left the roadway and went into a concrete drainage ditch, police spokesman Tracy Carter said Saturday.

The man separated from the motorcycle and fell into the ditch, Carter said. He was found dead at the scene, Carter said.

The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. Friday. Carter said little physical evidence was found at the scene of the accident and that police have found no witnesses.

The city's Fort Worth Safe Communities Collaborative is tracking car crash data based on MedStar 911 calls, and has ranked the intersections where the most accidents have happened during the past year.

The driver crashed his truck into a bridge pillar while traveling northbound in the 12800 block of Interstate 35W, and his vehicle burst into flames, according to police.

An accident Tuesday afternoon on a Fort Worth, Texas freeway could have been much worse. MedStar reports that one person was ejected when a car rolled over on Interstate 30.
