A man died Wednesday evening on East Lancaster Avenue and police are investigating it as a homicide, a spokesman said.

Chad Young, 44, was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital just before 5:30 p.m. after an incident in the 1300 block of East Lancaster Avenue near the Union Gospel Mission shelter, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner.

Police would not say how Young was killed or what led to the incident or if there’s a suspect.

“We don’t release information on homicide cases that can be detrimental to the investigation,” spokesman Jimmy Pollozani said.

MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said an ambulance responded to an assault call, but he did not have further information.

Young’s address was not listed by the medical examiner.
