Update: Teen accused of killing 17-year-old after birthday party, Dallas police say

Update Oct. 22: Dallas police say a 16-year-old boy turned himself into the Dallas Police Department in relation to the shooting death of Arthur Holloway, 17.

The teenager was charged with murder.

A teen was shot to death Sunday morning after a birthday celebration at an apartment in east Dallas, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw a juvenile and two other men running from the apartment on Walnut Street minutes after the shooting.

No suspects had been arrested.

Police identified the victim as Arthur Holloway, 17, who died shortly before 7 a.m. at a Dallas hospital.

Officers responded to the shooting call shortly before 2 a.m. at the Briarwyck Apartments in the 10000 block of Walnut Street.

Witnesses told police they had just finished hosting a birthday party and had left the apartment to go to the store.

As they returned, witnesses heard a gunshot coming from the apartment.

Holloway was found inside with a gunshot wound, police said. He died a few hours later.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and the investigation continued.
