An unidentified man died on Interstate 20 early Thursday morning after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a guardrail, police said.
The accident happened at about 3 a.m. in the 5700 block of I-20 in the westbound lanes, police said.
The man got out of his vehicle and went to retrieve items in the roadway.
When he was running back across the street, he was hit by a vehicle and then an 18-wheeler, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. He won’t be identified until the Tarrant County medical examiner has notified his next of kin.
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of either vehicle, said police Capt. Todd Wadlington.
Police dispatched 16 units to the scene.
