A 23-year-old man found in a creek underneath a bridge in east Fort Worth appears to have drowned in floodwaters, according to police.

Hamadi Hassan’s body was discovered Sunday afternoon underneath a bridge off Cobb Park near U.S. 287, according to Fort Worth police.

Officers were flagged down by someone who found Hassan’s body under the bridge. Police believe Hassan was the driver of a partially submerged pickup found at the same location Saturday morning. No driver had been found inside the truck.

The investigation is ongoing.

Hassan is the second person reported to have died from flooding in the area on Friday and Saturday.

Another 23-year-old man, Alan Amaya of El Paso, drowned after being swept off a bridge by floodwater in Arlington. He was a doctoral student of mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington.
