Teen accused in Fort Worth killing

A teenager remained in custody Tuesday, accused of killing a 54-year-old man near Wedgewood Park on Sunday night, police said.

Police did not release the name or the booking photograph of the 19-year-old suspect pending a photo lineup with witnesses.

The teen was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Monday.

The victim was identified as Samuel Bailey, 54, of Fort Worth, who was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m. Sunday at John Peter Smith Hospital. A ruling on his death is pending autopsy results.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Park Lane Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday on an auto-pedestrian accident.

Officers found a medical crew working on Bailey, according to police reports.

Paramedics advised officers that Bailey had numerous puncture and stab wounds as well as injuries sustained from being hit by a vehicle.

Bailey was taken to the Fort Worth hospital, where he died shortly after he arrived, authorities said.
