3 students have minor injuries after Fort Worth school bus rear-ended

A Fort Worth school district bus carrying students home for the day was rear-ended Tuesday afternoon in Wedgwood.

The bus’ 20 passengers were students from the Young Women’s Leadership Academy in downtown Fort Worth and the World Languages Institute on West Magnolia Avenue. Three students reported minor injuries but none was taken to a hospital, a MedStar official said.

A passenger vehicle hit the back of the bus at the intersection of Woodway and Wosley drives in southwest Fort Worth. The vehicle driver did not ask for treatment of injuries, the MedStar spokesman said.

Parents were notified that they could pick up their children at the scene, but another bus was on the way to deliver them home, a Fort Worth school spokesman said. — Dustin L. Dangli
