A 61-year-old man used a shotgun to kill his 95-year-old mother Tuesday afternoon, then fatally shot himself, authorities said Thursday.
Police did not release a motive for the shootings.
The woman was identified as Beatrice Thomason. She was killed by a shotgun wound to her head and was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Her body was found in the living room of her home in the 4800 block of Wedgeview Drive.
The body of her son James Thomason was found nearby. He died Tuesday from a shotgun wound to his head, according to the medical examiner's website, and his death was ruled a suicide.
James Thomason lived in the home with his mother and ran Beajim Custom Designs from there, according to Tarrant County public records.
A caretaker called police about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to investigate. Officers arrived and discovered the bodies.
Before Tuesday, police had no record of making any calls to the residence.
