Firefighters from multiple departments battle 2-alarm blaze in Saginaw

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a two-alarm fire at the Ventura Foods facility, in the 1100 block of Defiel Road.

Ventura Foods manufactures dressings, sauces, mayonnaise, oils, shortenings, margarines, bases and pan coatings, according to the company website.

Firefighters were alerted about 5 p.m. Thursday. Published reports said the fire was under control in less than two hours.

No injuries were reported, according to Randy Renois, Tarrant County fire marshal. Renois said he monitored the fire but did not witness the operation to extinguish the blaze.

People posting on social media reported that firefighters from Haslet, River Oaks, Lake Worth, Eagle Mountain, Blue Mound, Azle and White Settlement responded to a mutual aid call.
