A small plane was flying near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Wednesday when it nearly collided with a remote-controlled drone, NBCDFW.com reported.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Lynn Lunsford told NBCDFW.com that the pilot of a Cessna 182 reported the incident happened four miles west of the airport at about 2:30 p.m.
Lunsford told the Dallas Morning News that the drone was flying around 4,000 feet, but that they normally aren’t supposed to go above 400 feet.
The drone was reportedly 60 feet to the left and 50 feet below the plane.
