One in hospital following early Saturday fire in Fort Worth
One man is in the hospital following an early morning apartment fire in Fort Worth.
Fort Worth Fire Department received the call just before 2 a.m. and 10 units responded just minutes later to a blaze in an upstairs garage apartment at 2000 block of Clinton Ave.
They pulled out a middle-aged man, who was the only person home, and took him to Parkland hospital via ambulance, fire department spokesman Kyle Clay said.
A firefighter was also treated and released on the scene for smoke inhalation, according to Bobby Fimbres, also with the fire department and was on scene.
He said one room was fully involved with a second catching on fire in the three-bedroom apartment.
Fimbres said the department had initial trouble getting to the fire because of a gate and the apartment’s location.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
