A woman has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the death of a dentist Wednesday night in Uptown Dallas.
Kendra Hatcher, 35, was fatally shot in her apartment’s parking garage in the 1700 block of Cedar Springs Road.
Dallas police arrested Crystal Cortez, 22, on Friday night and charged her with capital murder. Cortez admitted her involvement in the murder and has given information about other people who may have been involved, police said.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Cortez told police that she conspired with someone to get $500 for driving a male suspect to the garage to rob Hatcher. But when they arrived, he shot Hatcher and took several items of her property, the affidavit says.
Cortez was driving a green Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep’s owner saw his vehicle on surveillance photos in news stories and told police that he had lent it to a friend, who told police she lent it to Cortez.
