A 7-year-old girl is dead after being thrown into high water during a car accident Saturday evening, WFAA News reports.
Rescuers searched the water for the young girl for nearly two hours.
Police told WFAA that six people — two adults and four children — were in the car heading west on U.S. 175 when it crossed multiple lanes, hit an embankment and flipped near the intersection of 175 and Second Avenue just after 6 p.m.
Two children, ages 9 and 7, were ejected from the vehicle and landed in the water, according to police. The 9-year-old was pulled from the water and taken to a local hospital. The other child was missing immediately after the accident.
