1 killed in Dallas crash while chasing suspects accused of killing family member

A person was killed in a traffic wreck early Wednesday while chasing suspects who had earlier shot and killed a family member at a home in south Dallas, according to news reports.

The names of the victims had not been released by authorities.

Police had responded to a shooting call at a home in the 4200 block of Copeland Street where they found one person dead.

A relative of that victim left the residence to chase the suspect, according to news reports. The relative driving a sports utility vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree in the 3600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins St. about 12: 40 a.m.

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police on Wednesday continued to search for the suspects.

Arlington Police are looking for these 10 fugitives. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Call 817-469-8477.
