A 49-year-old man who fired several shots in a West Texas bar and then also fired at officers was arrested Tuesday in Dallas, authorities said.
Encarnacio Ortiz was taken into custody without incident by Texas game wardens, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
The shooting incident started about midnight Saturday at a bar in Haskell, about three hours west of Fort Worth. Ortiz is accused of walking into the bar, brandishing a handgun and fired several rounds, the news release said.
No one was injured, and Ortiz fled.
When a Haskell County game warden and a Haskell police officer tried to pull Ortiz over, he didn't stop, the news release said. The police officer rammed Ortiz's vehicle, and Ortiz fired gunshots at the officer, according to game wardens.
Ortiz then drove a short distance and fled on foot, the news release said.
After Ortiz was arrested in Dallas, he was taken to the Dallas County Jail, where his bail was set at $1 million.
