A 22-year-old Arlington man was killed in a shooting Sunday night at George Stevens Park, less than a mile from the UTA campus, police said.
Daqualun Kelley was taken to Medical Center of Arlington where he died at 9:47 p.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at the park at 400 West Sanford Street about 9 p.m., police said in a statement. When they arrived, they found Kelley wounded near a park pavilion.
On Monday, detectives were still investigating what led to the shooting. They do not believe it was random, the statement says.
A suspect had not been identified by noon Monday.
