Man killed in I-30 crash in Arlington

An 80-year-old man was killed when his van left Interstate 30 and crashed into a pole, police said.

Police believe that the van was eastbound at about 9:15 p.m. Friday when, for an unknown reason, it veered to the right, across the shoulder, up the grassy median and into a pole near the Ballpark Way underpass.

The driver, identified as Darold Jordan of Grand Prairie by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
