ARLINGTON

Two police officers were involved in traffic wrecks Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the Arlington Police Department.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. VaNessa Harrison said that around noon Tuesday, an officer was en-route to an emergency call near New York Avenue and Pioneer Parkway when the police vehicle “was struck by another vehicle.” The officer had no injuries, but two other people were taken to the hospital with apparent minor injuries.

Harrison couldn’t confirm what caused the crash, if the other driver was given a citation or if the officer had emergency lights or siren on.

In a separate incident, a vehicle ran a red light at Bowen Road and Division Street at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday and crashed into an officer’s vehicle. The officer was not injured and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. No other information about the incident was made available late Wednesday.
