A man fatally shot near Sam Houston High School early Tuesday was identified Wednesday.

Calvin Camacho, 23, was pronounced dead at 4:02 a.m. in the 2400 block of Summer Place Drive, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported Wednesday.

He died of a gunshot to the abdomen and his death was ruled a homicide. His place of residence was not reported.

Arlington police responded to a 911 call at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and found a man shot who was pronounced dead at the scene, police Sgt. VaNessa Harrison, an Arlington police spokeswoman, said previously.

A second person with an “apparent gunshot wound” was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Harrison said Wednesday that information about the fatal shooting was sketchy because “people are not cooperating.”
