Motorcyclist killed in wreck by alleged intoxicated driver

A 24-year-old man from Grand Prairie was killed Friday night by a car driver who was allegedly intoxicated, Arlington police said.

The victim was riding a motorcycle about 11 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of East Arkansas Lane, according to a news release from the Arlington Police Department, when a car failed to yield right of way while exiting a parking lot and crashed into the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, Everett Matheney, 28, was arrested on a charge of intoxication manslaughter, according to Arlington police.
